Camden, girls lunch..

Jane, Pia and Becks at a pub in Camden on Saturday for a nice few wines and lunch..and dinner.

Wimbledon.

Last Thursday night I knocked off work a little early to go meet Mirtch and watch a bit of Wimbledon. Lined up from 4.30pm-6.30pm but was really worth it in the end. For £5 they resell the main court tickets and donate the money to charity, so we were able to go into Court 1 and see the Hewitt v Lee game. Was quite strange though because when it got to 2 sets each (i.e. really intense) they call time for the day. Wimbledon really need some lights, it was soo frustrating!

Jase and I sitting on Henman Hill (due to Murray's success they're now dubbing it Murray Mountain!)
The outside courts...it's quite surprising how small Wimbledon actually is! No wonder the lines are soo long.

The Royal Windsor Polo Cup 2006

Credit Suisse strikes again....
As sponsors of the Royal Windsor Cup Polo, I got tickets to the Polo in Windsor last Sunday. So 8 of us packed up a big picnic and some drinks and headed for Windsor. We had a great day out, the Queen was even there but as we were a little egar to get to the pub for the football by 4pm, we headed off to watch the last half and missed the Queen's presentation. Oh well, maybe I'll just have to wait to meet her at the wedding...Mine and Wills that is!

Our picnic...we pulled up to the track before everyone else so had quite a head start!
The Queen's box (&the Queen) on the other side of the ground. Later we sneaked around beside this building but we couldn't get a close up.

The boys stomping out the diverts
The 3 of us in true pretty women style stomping our the diverts at 3/5 time...Was a pretty women week as I went to the Royal Opera (£180 a seat- I didn't pay though) two days later, but I liked your call Sarah, as long as that's all we have in common!
No this is not a shot for a country road catelogue...it's just everyone waiting for our cabs to take us to the pub.

Oh yeah and there was Polo

From the Polo to the local Pub

Mel (Karen's sister who come over to travel around for a couple months), Karen and Jane
Karen, Jane, Becks and Pia
After Karen, Mel and Dani went back into London early to watch Ciaran's gig (Karen's work mate) the rest of us kicked on at the pub for a few too many hours

Half of Dani's head, Karen, Jase(Mirtch), Mel, Jane, Becks, Chris(Dela) and Pia

The train ride home from Polo

Who would have known that in a few hours, all four of us had to get up for work!
But here we are cruising back into London in the middle of a Sunday night, not a care in the world...(Can you feel the Mirtch tonight...take it away guys)...thanks for the night, was a hoot

T4 Concert on the Beach...Western Super Mare

Unfortunately Karen missed out again. Through the free morning paper Jane won two VIP tickets to the T4 Concert on the beach in Western Super Mare. Basically T4 is a tv station in England and they put on this day festival (day after foo fighters) on the beach with a heap of popular English acts (haven't put up too many photos as many of you from home won't know them).
Becks and went out there for the day then headed to a pub to catch the end of the Australia, Brazil game. Almost got stuck in Bristol for the night...but in the end were lucky enough to make it back to London for work Monday morning...Busy weekend, but good fun!

Dani Minogue and her dances... she received an unfriendly boo when she yelled out a cheer for the socceroos! The Enlgish aren't too friendly when it comes to their sport.

Foo Fighters Concert in Hyde Park!!

Another great day out in London...An all day music festival in Hyde Park featuring the Foo Fighters!! With an attendance of 85,000 people it's safe to say this is the biggest concert I've been to...I think this will come out on DVD!

Out of the 85,000, some how we run into a mate from camp!!! Jason Tennis

Jane's view from her desk at Credit Suisse

This one's for the family...
Since working at Credit Suisse, I've been seated on the 19th florr in Canary Charf next to a window at overlooking the city of London. It's a bit crazy and the pictures really don't do it justice, but if you look close enough you can see big ben, the london eye, tower bridge, the gerkin...

This is the view from the 9th (our food court dining room) in the opposite direction. It's 1 Cabot square Canary Wharf.

Sir Elton John Concert

Jane's work, Credit Suisse, were given tickets from a client to the Sir Elton John concert. To raise money for charity work decided to sell the few hundred received for £10 each. Unfortunately Karen was out with the family so again had to miss out..however Becks and Jane went down to the footy ground to check out the Queen of pop...great day!

Norway, Oslo...The city of Trolls, Vikings and Bricks...

Whilst Karen took a family trip around Ireland for a week, Jane and Anna headed across the seas to Oslo, Norway for a weekend break.

One of the many city squares

The bay, old ships and Anna

General thoughts on Norway....People are very chilled out, laid back & beautiful (all blonde and blue eyed) , the city is clean and pretty, although they do love their bricks, but as a whole the country is mighty pricey...London has nothing on this place. A half pint of beer in the pubs is around £6, that's around $15 a pot! Needless to say, duty free can in handy!!
